Study In Abstract No. 36, Yellowstone NP

from 25.00

Quaking Aspen trees are native to the Northern Range of Yellowstone National Park. Aspen trees take 60-80 years to mature then show a rapid deterioration after about 120 years of age. In rare instances a tree can reach 200 years of age. The “quaking” leaves can be mesmerizing to watch and they add a tremendous amount of color to the landscape in the fall. The color, texture and shapes of the bark add to the essence of these trees. This image was captured in the Mammoth Hot Springs area. Image taken by Ann C. Skelton of Nature In Pixels. All prints are matted and hand signed.
